UNIQUELY SIMPLE BUT FUNCTIONAL:

While working to develop a new item we spend time looking at how to simplify the design, while keeping functionality with pleasing aesthetics.

We use a mixture of honest materials that can be maintained, repaired, or recycled.

The quality and beauty of raw materials is important to us. So we keep paint and strong stains to a minimum, mostly using natural oils and finishes to protect the products.

Q&A

WHY IS EVERY ITEM UNIQUE?

The things we make are truly unique because they are crafted by hand from repurposed wood, metal and other materials. Each repurposed material has its own history and distinctive look, which we use as a starting point for creating vibrant new products.

The possible combinations of texture and color are nearly infinite. We hope you’ll enjoy the unique and sustainable items we make.

WHERE DOES COPSE WORKS GET ALL ITS WOOD FROM?

We have built relationships with builders and reclimation companies, to be able to gather most of the material we need to create the unique products in our store.

ARE ALL COMPONENTS MADE FROM REUSED WOOD?

Repurposed wood represents the majority of our raw materials. Not every element in our work is made from wood; we also use some new materials to make our products. Glue, Oil finish etc. We source these products thoughtfully from suppliers.

D I R materials types

  • DISCARDED ~ others have got rid of, or considered to be no longer useful or desirable.

  • IMPERFECT ~ damaged, containing problems, or not have uniform colour or texture.

  • RECLAIMED ~ retrieve or recovered from used or broken items.

D I R
materials often take longer and cost more to work with than using new. Yet we see they have so much potential, being truly unique, as well as being more sustainable. By up-cycling materials that are considered to be wast or useless, we can show what's possible with a little thought and attention to details. We want to show the individual features of each material characteristics. No two are the same.

Please expect some variations in the products you receive, such as: original marks, irregular grain, paint, ink and the makers marks.

The texture, ware and makers marks leave a story of the history and evolution of the material,

COPSE WORKS.
